Job Description
The primary responsibility for this position is to provide support for Global Quality at all applicable sites:
- Build a deep understanding of current and future business needs, directions and priorities of Global Quality and translate this understanding into a Technology Roadmap that will support and empower Global Quality success.
- Develop and reach consensus on short and long-term IT project plans and budgets in support of the Technology Roadmap.
- Coordinate with IT support and solution delivery groups to ensure that planned projects are properly resourced and deadlines are being met within the allocated budget.
- Clearly communicate with Global Quality and IT and regularly report on status, progress and issues related to planned projects.
- Maintain broad industry knowledge of applications, solutions, trends and alternatives available to meet Global Quality business needs.
1. Serve as the interface between IT and Global Quality:
- Serve as the primary IT liaison to Global Quality and promote collaboration, teamwork and trust between these groups.
- Participate as member of Global Quality staff as an "embedded" resource to drive departmental objectives.
- Understand the processes, plans, objectives, drivers, and issues related to Global Quality.
- Work with Global Quality to create a common vision for the future direction of systems and processes.
- Provide consulting to Global Quality on technology and process issues.
2. Develop a Technology Roadmap for Global Quality and create project plans for achieving the Roadmap goals:
- Work with Global Quality and IT and to define the desired state and create a Technology Roadmap.
- Assist Global Quality and IT in prioritizing technology initiatives and establishing challenging but achievable target dates and manage the IT portfolio for Global Quality.
- Develop, maintain and report on capital and expense budget for identified Global Quality projects.
- Create and execute detailed project plans that achieve Global Quality initiative and target dates within the allocated budget
- Report to Global Quality and IT on a regular basis the overall project status, accomplishments, issues and changes.
3. Facilitate process improvement through technology:
- Respond to inquiries received from the Global Quality concerning technology solutions.
- Research opportunities for applying technology to solve business problems; champion introduction of technologies that have to potential for transformational change.
- Bring awareness of new technology and products to Global Quality and support business reengineering when changes are made.
4. Audit support
- Support Global Quality during internal and agency audits.
- Assist in the audit preparation process.
- Assist in answering technical questions during audits
And other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.
The person in this position must have depth of experience with all systems used in support of Global Quality including LabWare LIMS, TrackWise, e/Docs-Documentum, and Waters Empower.
