Job Description

Cherokee Nation Security and Defense division delivers innovative surveillance, investigative and safeguard services, as well as defense logistics and weapons systems services.
Business Development Coordinator
The Business Development Coordinator is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development. The Business Development Coordinator will support CNSD’s business development team by performing all administrative tasks needed to facilitate the proposal process. This may include drafting of correspondence, coordinating and scheduling meetings and gate reviews, and completing all activities necessary to produce proposals. Additionally, coordinators may be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients and potential business partners in an effort to promote future opportunities for the CNSD division. The duties and responsibilities of this position will include the following two (2) major activities:
Business Development
• Coordinate the identification, document development, reviews and approvals, and maintain the Business Development Policies, Procedures and Processes.
• Coordinate the Identification, development, reviews and approvals, and maintain the Business Development document and graphics generation, computer data bases, data and document archives, and communications.
• Perform web based and government publication research and develop and maintain factual data bases and lead generation tools to assist the Business Development process.
• Support the Business Development (BD) activities including BD meeting coordination, generation of marketing literature, identifying and scheduling contacts, coordinating BD business travel, production of briefing material, and BD reporting (written reports, meetings, and teleconferences).
Proposal Development
• Coordinate the identification, document development, reviews and approvals, and maintain the Proposal Development Policies, Procedures and Processes.
• Coordinate the Identification, document development and graphics generation, reviews and approvals, and maintain the Proposal Development computer data bases, data and document archives, and communications.
• Provide Proposal Coordination and support including:
o organizing and maintaining the proposal center (virtual or real),
o assignments,
o schedules,
o activities,
o document management,
o team communications,
o reviews,
o approvals, and
o production and delivery of formal proposals.

Experience
• 5 years of proven business development track record.
• Experience developing proposals for Department of Defense, Homeland Security or Department of State opportunities.
• 2 years selling experience to the federal government highly preferred.
• Management and supervision experience preferred.
• Proven record on project management, including the experiences in negotiating sales contracts, generating revenue, and establishing sales quota targets.
• Strong capability to plan and develop business development plans.
• Demonstrated ability to create and execute new business strategies to successful outcomes.
• Understanding of government budgeting and acquisition processes.
Education / Skills
• Bachelor’s degree with Marketing or Business Administration focus; MBA a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English skills, other languages will be an advantage.
• Computer literacy (creating, filing, saving/uploading, searching, backup, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook).
Travel Requirements: 25 - 50% or as needed.
