Job Description
Position Summary:
Functions as an internal consultant or liaison between the IT organization and the functional business clients. Performs business process analysis to identify opportunities to re-engineer business processes, improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Responsible for translating business case analysis into functional requirements. May perform the role of Project Coordinator, overseeing coding and implementation, for projects with limited scope/duration (i.e., less than 12 months in duration). Requires in-depth knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle, leadership skills and the ability to work well with both business clients and developers.
Principle Responsibiliites:
* Serves as a liaison between ADM and the business
* Provides technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects
* Provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group
* Assists in the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on user needs and an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
* Works with customers to define user needs
* Participate in industry meetings and business requirement gathering sessions
* Translates business requirements into functional requirements
* Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
* Analyzes and re-engineers business processes to solve complex problems
* Works with users and developers in planning, developing, implementing, and supporting new or existing applications
* Maintains and support system functional documentation and data dictionary
Project Coordination
* Performs planning, executing, reporting status, risk management, resource allocation and leveling, and managing budget
* Performs all development lifecycle quality assurance for the work of other team members, including the review of high-level designs, detail designs, code, and test plans and results
* Instructs, assigns, directs, and reviews the work produced by other team members on the Team
* Reports status and issues to Team Leads as necessary
* Assists in coordinating the implementation of changes to improve performance against metric targets
* Provides support and on-the-job training to more junior or less experienced team members
* Facilitates individual team member development of technical, functional, and industry skills
* Acts as a role model and mentors other team members
* Provides input to Team Leads on team member performance
Application Development
* Leads the prototyping of new or enhanced applications
* Participates in functional analysis and design, technical analysis and design, test planning, and user documentation activities
* Identifies problems and tracks them through the software implementation lifecycle process
* Liaison with the Test Support Group to track testing progress and coordinate resolution of any defects identified
Testing
* Develops test approach and scripts for the project
* Coordinates system test activities
* Performs system testing to ensure the product meets the established specifications
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Must have experience and knowledge of financial services. Key areas will be Mutual Funds, Alternate Investment Products, and Managed Account Services.
* Detailed knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle (SILC) and CMMI.
