Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world�� s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The $12.2 billion project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.
The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE�� s most technically challenging cleanup projects��"equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Role Overview

Essential Duties:

- Perform system administration for the project�� s non-safety software development and testing platform:
ABB IndustrialIT System 800xA . System administration duties include, but are not limited to system maintenance, system backup, configuration management, library development and management, user support (including administration and training for remote sites), system upgrades, system optimization and troubleshooting.
- Serve as resident expert for ABB IndustrialIT System 800xA to support the most effective and efficient methods of completing software development and testing.
- Support software development and testing as required, ensuring system use meets ABB recommendations and WTP requirements

Basic Qualifications

BS degree from an accredited institution in Control Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer and Electro-mechanical engineering related field with 16 years of related experience; or MS degree from an accredited institution in Control Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer and Electro-mechanical engineering related field with 12 years of related experience or 20 years engineering experience.

Additional Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in configuring ABB systems of large size and complexity
- Must have working knowledge of typical engineering applications, including Microsoft Office, database applications, and Visual Basic
- Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations.
- 20+ years of software development in an industrial control setting

Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with ABB system, including system administration responsibilities as well as knowledge and experience in System 800xA
- 10+ years experience in a regulated environment, such as DOD, DOE, or Pharmaceutical
- Experience and proficiency in ABB IndustrialIT System 800xA installation and configuration, including Process Control Device Library, Function Designer, Control Builder, FF Builder, OPC, Bulk Data Manager, and hardware and I/O configurationPossess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship
