JOB DESCRIPTIONSuperior group is looking for a Sr. Database Administrator for our client located in Anaheim, CA
Responsible for the planning, design, development, maintenance, and organization of all databases.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server.
Administer databases for the data warehouse and various software packages.
Integrate custom web applications and software packages with the database server.
Develop and maintain databases in conjunction with an ERP implementation.
Participate in software application design and SQL server installations and upgrades.
Ensures data reliability/integrity so that the data warehouse and all database applications show accurate information.
Integrate databases with software applications to improve application performance and efficiency.
Optimizes data retrievals and updates to improve performance.
Maintain DDL and DML.
Administer the data warehouse to improve usability, reliability, accuracy, and availability.
Installs and upgrades SQL Server and database objects and backs up database to improve data availability.
Secures data in database to improve information privacy, data protection, and compliance with regulations.
Documents data, processes, and changes including capacity planning to improve quality and comply with auditing and other business requirements.
Performs optimization, encryption, backup, and in depth knowledge of database programming to create stored procedures, triggers, SQL statements, trigger tables, and indices.
Implement and document database administration best practices.
General knowledge of web applications, Microsoft Windows platform, and server administration.
Skill in multitasking to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Skill in understanding user requests to determine actual business needs and appropriate database solutions.
Skill in problem solving.
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to users, peers, and management.
Database developer experience needed.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS or CSC.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with transactional SQL and SQL Server
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET - Visual Basic a plus.
Experience with Cost Point or other ERP systems a plus.
