Sets the vision & strategic direction for programs seeking to involve alumni, partners, and friends in advancement and fulfillment of the School's fundraising priorities in concert with Graham's internal community
Engages School leaders and appropriate individuals within the University's Alumni Relations & Development team in the identification of immediate and longer-term fundraising & engagement goals
Manages portfolio of major gift prospects including direct cultivation, solicitation, closing of commitments and stewardship and involving internal and volunteer partners when appropriate
Collaborates with key Graham leaders and partners including:
- Dean in the development of overall fundraising plan, the engagement of school leaders in cultivation & solicitation efforts and involvement of the members of the Graham School Council
- Sr. Assoc. Dean for Academic Affairs in furthering the Dean's agenda through the pursuit of philanthropic investments in existing and new programs, positioning the engagement of other senior internal leaders in these efforts
- Assoc. Dean, Professional Programs in the development of philanthropic investment relationships with content and recruiting partners associated with master's degree programs
- Assoc. Dean, Liberal Arts Programs in fundraising from alumni and participants for the Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults
- Assoc. Dean, Bridge and Partnership Programs in the identification and solicitation of prospective donors with a particular focus on private and corporate foundations and programs featuring organizational and institutional partnerships and under-served populations
- Dean of Students in the development and integration of student and alumni outreach and engagement programs including those related to career development efforts
- Sr. Director of Marketing in the development of messages for print, web, and e-collateral designed to advance relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors. This partnership will focus on development of a social media strategy and social media ambassador network among Graham alumni & advocates
Develops and sustains inventory for emerging top prospects building from and upon existing & programmatically aligned opportunities
Collaborates with the appropriate liaisons in the prospect management team within ARD to develop strategically diverse School-wide prospect and proposal pipeline
Coordinates the implementation of an integrated data development strategy (specifically the Griffin and Insightly platforms); works with all appropriate in ARD's strategic information team and Graham partners to support the documentation of School constituencies
Communicates progress on a regular and consistent manner using metrics and performance dashboards
Oversees the efforts of External Relations Mgr. in the implementation of cultivation and solicitation programs aligned with key School priorities for required success
Directs the work of the Asst. Director, External Relations on key partnerships and programs
Provides leadership & support to the Graham School Council, and its external relations committee, in the strategic identification & recruitment of prospective donors and the evolution of involvement by the majority of Council members in fundraising & prospect development efforts on an ongoing basis
Ensures all private commitments are accepted on the basis of best practice balancing both institutional & donor objectives within full compliance of IRS charitable accounting rules & regulations
Ensures private gifts are recognized & stewarded appropriately, are used for intended purposes, are supported by the preparation & distribution of regular reports with details on the impact of commitments and endowments, an accounting of investment performance & available balances for fulfillment of the intended purposes
