This is a position within FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00] This position manages the development of business relationships with external organizations including chambers, state organizations, LEDOs, RECs, community organizations, commercial, and industrial customers and utilizes these relationships to assist in economic development activity in the assigned Service Territory. This includes new company attraction, relocation, retention and expansion activities to drive revenue and throughput for FirstEnergy and accomplish business plan goals. Responsible for encouraging economic development in FirstEnergy?s assigned territory through the following activity. This position is located at the Williamsport Service Center in MD. It reports to the Manager, Economic Development. Responsibilities include:
- Acting as key company representative for Economic Development in Potomac Edison, MD/WV and select regions in Pennsylvania while working with all customers and constituents to achieve business goals and ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction - Coordinating activity with appropriate regional and corporate personnel to provide resources and information for projects - Building trusting supportive relationships with all FirstEnergy departments operating within assigned territories - Leading the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of business relationships with customers and constituents within assigned territory - Engage internal resources and approval to support the economic development work of territory constituents by leveraging FirstEnergy tools, relationships and resources, on issues consistent with company business strategies - Providing input, competitive intelligence, and feedback on local perspectives pertaining to company performance and company strategies - Acting as a proactive and responsive resource within the region to lead communications to customers and constituents on economic development activity that supports company goals - Achieving business plan metric goals, driving continuous improvement and providing value added services - Proactively promoting and abiding to the current safety practices and philosophy - Influencing location decisions to encourage capital investment in our service area - Promoting regional efforts of economic development partners - Encouraging positive local, state, federal support for company economic development efforts
- Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Geography, Urban Affairs or related discipline required - Minimum 10 years professional work experience required with experience in Economic Development required - Working knowledge of electrical distribution, Energy Delivery business practices preferred - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) - Strong leadership, decision making and relationship building skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Overnight travel required within and around FirstEnergy service territory
