Sr Engineer - Automation & Technology (BGE)

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the engineering of substation protection and control systems for new projects and upgrades to existing facilities. Other responsibilities include: acting in responsible engineer role to coordinate internal and contract design and engineering resources, developing project scopes, directing designers in the development of project drawings, specifying equipment, executing power system fault analysis for purpose of protective relay setting and dynamic test plan development, developing intelligent electronic device programmable logic, developing commissioning test plans, and directing test plan execution. Required is experience with electric utility transmission systems protective relay applications and the development of associated settings; familiarity with one or more of the following is desired: SCADA, digital communication protocols applied for field device integration and control, or programmable logic control devices.
1. Bachelor's in Engineering and 5 years or more professional experience or Master's Degree in Engineering and 3 years professional experience.

2. Demonstrated ability to:
a. perform complex analyses
b. recommend plans to improve current processes
c. evaluate the impact of new developments or information involving market conditions.

3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and organize work activities.

4. Demonstrated expertise in project management and cost control techniques.

5. Demonstrated ability to use personal computer and associated software and job specific computer applications (e.g.,. Energy Control System, Distribution Automation, Outage Management System, etc.).
