Job Description

Department/Area Function:

The Facilities Engineering department is responsible for the physical infrastructure that supports the environment of the data centers, communication areas and business centers at multiple sites. These systems include electrical distribution, UPS, emergency generators, HVAC, fire detection/suppression systems, gas detection systems and the monitoring and control systems they use. The department also supports critical processing areas throughout the sites and assists Corporate Services in their relocation and restack projects.

Position Summary:

Administers projects and day-to-day operations of the critical physical infrastructure that supports the data centers, disaster recovery areas and critical administration areas throughout DTCC's sites.

Principal Responsibilities:
* Under general supervision prepares design drawings, specifications and bid correspondence using the most efficient and cost effective solution.
* Responds to and supervises emergency and corrective maintenance services.
* Supervises out-sourced contractors during new installations and scheduled maintenances. Assures that all DTCC work rules and procedures are followed.
* Oversees the operation of UPS, HVAC, Emergency Generators, high and low voltage electrical systems and fire detection/suppression systems and makes recommendations to facility management.
* Under general supervision tracks and controls projects in progress, sets up equipment testing schedules, preventative maintenance schedules and corrective repairs.
* Assists management in developing and implementing operations and maintenance policies and procedures that are required to meet departmental and corporate goals.
* Supports management in the forecasting and managing of the department's operational and capital budgets.
* Assist management in project justifications and the implementation of all information in the PSP database.
* Prepares written and oral reports and makes recommendations to management and in house staff.
Experience:

Three years of engineering experience in Facilities Maintenance and Management field. Knowledge and Skills Required:

Understanding of operation and maintenance of facility mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of PC and test equipment. Education, Training &/or Certification:

B.S. in Engineering plus three years of related experience or equivalent technical or work experience.
