JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Sutro Biopharma, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Facilities Engineer experienced in handling physical plant services to support Sutro s cGMP facilities in San Carlos. You will be working with the Sutro s plant & manufacturing operations team to develop new processes to maximize our facilities and technology to enhance our internal and collaborative product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience with Biotechnology equipment, centrifuge, fermenters, automation and control systems. Experience in creating systems for preventative maintenance and calibration is highly desired.
The Sr. Facilities Engineer will be responsible for supporting operations in Sutro s Biopharma s cGMP Manufacturing Facility which will include:
Ability to work in a classified clean suite performing start up, troubleshooting or preventative maintenance on process and utility equipment. Installation and operational verification of equipment in the plant.
Identification and analysis of electrical or mechanical trouble of PLC computer controlled equipment and able to find lasting solutions so that the operations continuously improve reliability.
Serve as point of contact for all contracted maintenance and calibration work by outside service providers.
Manage more complex maintenance and repair of plant and/or office facilities and equipment. Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, plumbing, etc., using hand and power tools as required.
Access the work request system and generate work orders, implement solutions for requesters and close out work orders upon completion.
The possibility of being on-call for after-hours building and system alarm response.
Instruct lab personnel on the proper procedure for transfer of hazardous waste to the storage areas. Coordinate the pickup and paperwork for the hazardous waste, and interact with the contracted waste hauling service provider.
Ability to author, edit and follow standard operating procedures.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections and record data in logbooks for critical utilities and building systems. Report out of range or specification on appropriate quality system documents.
Monitor and respond to building and systems monitoring alarms. Notify the appropriate personnel and possibly correct the discrepancy as needed.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Secondary support for receiving. Receive all shipments to warehouse, inspect for damage, match receipt against packing slip and purchase order and enter into financial management and inventory management system. Deliver material to purchaser if necessary.
Maintain chemical Safety Data Sheets in binders and electronic files.
Maintain inventory stock in warehouse(s). Order and restock as necessary.
Receive and process material transfer requests from Manufacturing group (and other internal customers) Pull material from stock, reconcile inventory and deliver to requesters.
Coordinate all RMA/RGA with vendors and requesters.
Prepare shipments and track using common carriers.
