Job Description

This position is responsible for the preparation of contract abstracts and first time set-up of profit participation statements utilizing PARIS for all talent entitled to receive contingent compensation required by the provisions or terms of the agreements/contracts with these outside parties related to feature films, video, games, digital and merchandising.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
*Analyze and interpret financial provisions of all talent contracts for participants entitled to receive contingent compensation on pictures/products produced/distributed by Paramount
*Research contractual issues and deal points ensuring compliance with contractual intent
*Prepare contract abstracts to reflect payee information, important deal terms, participation formulas, profit shares, bonus & contingent payments, and other pertinent financial obligations
*Submit contract abstracts for departmental and legal review to ensure financial terms are captured and reported properly. Update/revise abstracts as needed until approved by legal
*Create Excel/PARIS formats of financial statements in accordance with contractual terms
*Respond to deal point questions raised by management, and other internal departments
*Request financial information from production finance to track budget, final production costs, and determine if over budget penalties need to be calculated (if applicable)
*Work with Director to prioritize work assignment to ensure statement deadlines are met
*Help as requested by management with quarterly cash forecast
*Review deal summaries and P&Ls to determine if pictures will reach breakeven point
*Enter all participant contracts in statement control system for tracking purposes and to ensure timely issuance of statements
*Assist financial analysts with questions to help determine if accounting specifications are in compliance with contractual deal terms.
*Revise/update specs as needed to accurately reflect statement calculations
*On-going testing of PARIS templates; on-going tracking of PARIS issues and resolutions
*Track weekly box office results and prepare box office bonus payments as levels are reached
*Test statements for accuracy using a predetermined test product in PARIS prior to submission for statement preparation.
*Perform special projects as requested through research and statistical analysis
Basic qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
*Minimum 3 years relevant work experience

Desired skills:
* Strong computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PARIS experience a plus
*Attention to detail, ability to work independently and meet deadlines
*Must have good organizational skills in order to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
*Good written and verbal communication skills
