The University of California, Merced is the newest and tenth campus of the University of California system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. The Senior Food Service Worker duties will include simple culinary duties, such as preparing food at a short order station, making salad dressings and sauces, cleaning and preparing produce, assembling sandwiches, serving up to 1000 meals per shift. Duties also include ensuring that high standards of food quality, service, sanitation, and safety are maintained at all times. The Senior Food Service Worker assists/trains food service worker and/or students with entry level cooking duties. This position serves as platform Lead.

High school or a General Education Diploma.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
Two years culinary experience in a high volume culinary environment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
Ability to communicate, read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Ability to enter information into data terminals.
