Visiting Nurse Service Of New York
Created in 1998, VNSNY CHOICE is the managed care affiliate of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and shares its mission of compassion and care for the poor, the chronically ill and elderly. VNSNY CHOICE has 700 employees, including 227 care management staff. On any given day, VNSNY CHOICE coordinates care for more than 40,000 members through its array of Medicare and Medicaid health plans, including Medicaid Long Term Care, Medicare Advantage, and a HIV/Special Needs Plan. With offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn and upstate New York, VNSNY CHOICE health plans are available in the New York City metropolitan area as well as on a plan basis in selected counties throughout New York State.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Responsible for providing consistent and integrated access to information contained in the VNSNY and VNS CHOICE datamarts for evaluating operational, managerial, and QI processes. Monitors, analyzes and communicates aggregate and regional metrics against benchmarks where applicable. Words under moderate supervision.
Licensure: Valid driver's license or NYS Non-Driver photo ID card may be required as determined by operational/regional needs.
Education: Masters degree in Computer Science, Public Health, Healthcare Informatics, Health Administration or other relevant discipline required.
Experience: Minimum five years of increasingly responsible data analysis experience in a healthcare setting required, including a minimum of three years experience in claims analysis required. Knowledge of Medicare Advantage regulatory reporting preferred. Advanced proficiency in personal computer programs, including SAS, (statistical analysis and outputs) MS Excel (including formulas, sorts, filters, pivot tables, IF statements, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.), Access (criteria statements, table links, and database and report creation), Crystal Reports, SQL programming, and Word, required. Certification in SAS Base 9 Programming required. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Knowledge of Visual Basic, database creation and maintenance preferred.
