TheSr. Industrial/Transportation Designer is responsible to provide the design andoversight for exterior and interior projects, including advanced technologyprojects and subprojects. Works closely in collaboration with Digital Modelersand the Modeling Studio to ensure the design intent is captured in both digitalmodels and physical model properties through all phases of design and productcreation process. The Sr. Industrial Designerreports to the Chief Designer.
Createand implement innovative design solutions for future and current truck exteriorand interior designs, including advanced technology projects and subprojects.
Knowledgeand skills to execute multiple programs and projects through all phases ofdesign and product development from concept through to productionimplementation with minimal guidance or oversight.
Workclosely with the Digital Modeling and the Studio Modeling Staff, and engagingall internal and external customers, suppliers, and stake holders through thedesign development to ensure the design intent and objectives are met.
Providedesign oversight as necessary to follow up development of 3D CAD models andscale models to ensure a high level of surface refinement and quality of design.
Workjointly with studio designers, modelers, product planners and engineering toachieve the stated goals, and promoting clear and concise communicationabout project deliverables and timelines ensuring milestones are met.
Beable to communicate design concepts through sketches and renderings and makeformal presentations to senior level management and internal and externalcustomers.
Effectivelymanage the scheduling for projects including efficient & timely completion.
Demonstrateability to handle multiple tasks and to rapidly respond to model or packagingrevisions and product changes as requested from Product Planning, Engineeringand Industrial Design staff.
Demonstrateprofessional and successful communication skills (verbal/written/visual) withstrong and effective interpersonal abilities.
Acquirethe knowledge regarding technical developments of vehicles and theirapplications, industrial and automotive design, trends, materials, legalrequirements and processing and production methods.
Manage Class-Asurface releases and inspection of production parts against stylingrequirements
Ableto identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of design feasibilitybetween Industrial Design and Engineering Groups.
