Sr. Linux Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineering team at PayPal is responsible for qualifying new technologies in the systems space, designing the plan to integrate the technology into our existing environment, and drafting standards for those technologies. We also work with operations customers to qualify and manage exceptions to those standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will have broad experience with Internet technologies. We are looking for people with a history of identifying problems, creating solutions, and seeing the solutions through to completion. The candidate must also work well with other technology teams to accomplish common goals. Candidates with a software development background and/or creating map reduce jobs are preferred. Our primary responsibility is over Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
