Job Description
* This is a 2nd shift position
*
Responsible for efficient and reliable operations of utility systems and process equipment of the Manufacturing
Plant, GMP Warehouse and Offices.
Performs scheduled and corrective maintenance of complex equipment and systems.
Evaluates equipment performance and recommends improvements to Maintenance program and system design
Perform troubleshooting of the most complicated systems and equipments.
Ensures quality of work, provides in-house expertise.
50% - Performs scheduled and corrective maintenance of utility systems and process
equipment
20% -Evaluates equipment performance and recommends improvements to
Maintenance program and system design
30% - Coordinates maintenance activities with manufacturing supervisors. Solicits
quotations and reviews contractors' proposals within his area of responsibilitiesMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated abilities and/or evidence of training in repair, operation, and troubleshooting of electromechanical
process equipment and utility systems
Experience with control systems, PLC's, SCADA, and BMS systems preferred but not required
Extensive relevant experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, petrochemical, packaging, and power generation
industries
Good communication skills and ability to provide training and supervision to contractors. Ability to work with
minimal supervision. Good knowledge of the Plant facility and process equipment and system. Competency in
maintaining and reviewing facility related cGMP documentation.
Performs troubleshooting of critical facility and process equipment. Makes decisions on operations and
maintenance of critical Plant equipment and systems. Ability to Handle emergencies on vital process equipment
with minimal or no supervision. Makes recommendations to maintenance management on equipment
performance and design improvements.
Coordinates maintenance activities with manufacturing leads and supervisors. Actively interfaces with
validation specialists and engineering activities. Maintains communication with contractors and supply vendors
Should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs. Valid Driver's license. Travel between
all Shire HGT sites is required. Incumbent will be required to carry a cellular phone / Blackberry device and to
be on call to support Manufacturing operations.
