Sr. Manager Accounting Systems

GENERAL SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to effectively lead and manage a team responsible for the development, prioritization, designing, testing and successful implementation of the PayPal Accounting Systems roadmap. This role will also be closely involved in collaborating with various Accounting, Global Financial Product (GFP), Production Development and QA teams to ensure the design and implementation of new products, partners and currencies integrate effectively into the existing production accounting environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Build, lead and manage an exceptionally high performing team to effectively execute all assigned responsibilities.
Using sound operational excellence tools and techniques, a well informed understanding of the path of the business, and a deep understanding of existing and available systems and development resources, develop, prioritize, design, test and successfully implement a PayPal Accounting Systems roadmap that maximizes return on investment and ensures an effective, efficient, scalable systems solution which both keeps pace with the needs of the end users as well as the business.
Work collaboratively with various Accounting, Global Financial Product (GFP), Production Development and QA teams to ensure the design and implementation of new products, partners and currencies integrate effectively into the existing production accounting environment.
Identify, procure, influence coordinate and manage all resources necessary to ensure the Accounting Systems roadmap gets implemented on plan and on schedule. This includes understanding and adhering to standard development policies and procedures including applicable inputs to systems such as Clarity and processes such as SPP.
Oversee and manage the preparation, vetting and execution of effective business requirements documentation, test plans and test scripts for all Accounting Systems roadmap projects as well as peripheral projects impacting Accounting Systems.
Design and coordinate effective cut-over, pilot and/or ramp up plans to ensure sound introductions of new systems and functionality into production with minimal or no interruption to live production processes.
Design, document and implement effective training for production systems and features as well as new features and functionality as it is launched.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with the Accounting end user community, GFP team, FPandA and other stakeholders regarding the Accounting Systems roadmap to ensure it stays current and relevant and that changes are introduced in an orderly and effective manner.
Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

REQUIRED PERFORMANCE

Achieve, maintain and consistently demonstrate a solid understanding of PayPal's business products, transactions, systems and related accounting process flows. Understand the accounting implications from the transaction level, to the reconciliation level through to the financial statements.
This role is considered to be a member of the Controller leadership team.
