JOB DESCRIPTION

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Sr. Manager of Client Systems you will be responsible for overseeing and managing operational support of the messaging, directory, imaging and software distribution systems. The right person for this role is motivated, takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work. This role will ensure that assigned operational tasks are being completed accurately, timely and within budget in order to provide exceptional service to Gilead employees, contractors, partners and stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide management and support for the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and on-going maintenance of enterprise-wide Microsoft infrastructure services.

Manage, develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers.
Ensure compliance with established security, quality and compliance rules and policies.

Interact with various teams in projects, escalations and troubleshooting efforts.

Provide guidance, mentoring, assistance and development to a geographically dispersed team of senior engineers and architects.

May be required to travel to other sites domestically and internationally.

Must be quality oriented and ensure all work streams are aligned with company and IT compliance standards.

Work cross-functionally as a key contributor to the overall success of a global dynamic IT function to participate in projects from concept to deployment.

Manage the planning, development, design, validation and implementation of assigned projects, including scope, work breakdown, schedules, budget and delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

The Sr. Manager of Client Systems should have experience with at least one or more enterprise class systems and associated technologies, including:

Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft System Center, Configuration Manager 2012 (SCCM)
Microsoft Active Directory
Office 365
Strong knowledge of Windows 7, 8, or 10
Deep understanding and knowledge of Windows Server 2008/R2, 2012/R2 or 2016.
Good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, WMI, and SNMP.

Education & Experience:

Typical candidates will possess:8+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS Degree or equivalent OR 6+ years of relevant experience, with an advanced degree or equivalent.

Previous experience working in a regulated environment with knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing.

Practices (cGMP), 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and other regulatory requirements a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing of procedural documentation and technical specifications.

Must be able to communicate effectively across multiple business units, peers and IT Leadership.
