Job DescriptionWhere Great People Build Successful Careers.The Hanover is seeking a Sr. Marketing Manager to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office.Position Overview/Summary:
Plays an active and hands-on role in the strategic design, development, implementation, management and assessment of innovative marketing programs and initiatives that support business unit goals. The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, interacting across a wide variety of people and functions, including other marketing units, sales, financial analytics, field, operations, business units, and other areas.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Act as a thought partner to Business Leader and business marketing leaders to develop marketing plans, strategies and initiatives in support of assigned business unit and field. Includes providing marketing in areas such as product, promotion, placement and price.- Present marketing concepts and ideas to leadership at varying levels influencing key outcomes and direction of outcomes.- Builds comprehensive marketing programs and leads implementation and management acting as primary contact with business stakeholders.- Designs and leads marketing, sales and distribution programs and campaigns. This includes implementation & management of internal and external communications, tactics and tools, and scorecard measurements.- Coordinates marketing strategies through complete project plans and kick off tactics through individual project briefs. Manage project work with shared resources in digital, video and design teams.- Coordinates an active schedule of marketing project deliverables:
monitoring progress, and recommending to leadership ways to overcome obstacles and enhance assigned project deliverables.- Analyzes market research to identify marketing opportunities Marketing programs and projects and collaborates with leadership and key stakeholders on solutions and approaches that address needs and create competitive differentiation. This includes analytical assessments, competitive analyses, and presenting of recommendations to marketing and business leadership team(s).- Takes an innovative approach to identifying market opportunities by developing hypotheses and testing them in controlled pilot programs.- Explore new technologies and partnerships to breakthrough new markets.- Collaborates with the field, business and marketing in the creation/use of marketing tools and tactics, including digital e-tools such as campaign management, collateral design and development, websites and portals that support various marketing initiatives and projects.- Ensures that content is on message and is aligned to drive business priorities and effectively conveys business expectations and focus to those providing support to marketing collateral development.- Manages various events in support of product / state launch of new technology, marketing events, product launches etc. in partnership with business and field.- Set initiative program success measures, monitor results against plan; periodically report results and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.- Provide ongoing assessment of key agency and field needs and proactively identify, recommend and implement subsequent opportunities for improvement.- Aligns various marketing initiatives to support and drive partner agency conversion.- Responsible for development distribution lists and updating with all key stakeholders as needed.- Assist with onboarding and progression of new or developing team members. May serve as a mentor to members within the team or department.Position RequirementsRequired Skills, Key Competencies and Experience:
- B.S. in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management- Minimum 8 years of related insurance and marketing experience- Strong business and marketing acumen. Applies understanding of business, product, industry and enterprise strategies to inform marketing strategies and initiatives ensuring direct impact/alignment with business objectives.- Innovative thinking with ability to test new ideas and professionally challenge present thinking.- Technical aptitude necessary to work with relevant software / systems related to work/role- Strong Project Management skills, able to manage all facets of projects of varying scopes and complexity. Ability to set objectives, define key work milestones, stage work, and execute to meet goals while adjusting for obstacles and changes.- Demonstrated consultation skills, able to influence and communicate with key stakeholders at varying levels. Ability to draw out the business needs, evaluate and recommend the best approach and influence the appropriate outcomes.- Ability to think strategically as well as effectively execute on key initiatives- Strong Interpersonal and communication skills - ability to convey concepts and ideas in a clear and credible way.
