Job DescriptionThe Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Product Analyst to join our growing Personal Lines team in our Worcester, MA office.The Sr. Product Analyst participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of product management initiatives which includes the development of new products, modifying existing products, and maintenance of current products and implementing system enhancements.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Using project management skills and techniques, coordinate cross-functional implementation activities with Claims, Marketing, Operations, State Management, Systems, and Distribution as required.- Write business specifications and manage system project development ensuring timely delivery, maintenance of tracking documentation and communication within the department- Provide analytical research and ongoing analysis support for Product Management's Premium Pursuit, Margin Improvement, and Expense Reduction initiatives.- Analyze areas of opportunity in PL Product Design consistent with established priorities.- Review and evaluate competitor insurance products and services on an ongoing basis. Maintain a comparison of key competitor's products and services compared to Hanover's offerings. Help identify Hanover new product offerings. Assists with research and analysis of new product ideas and interprets results.- Apply analytical methods to a variety of problems and situations as appropriate.- Assigned product functions are handled with little supervision and with the appropriate level of urgency, quality & communication. Develop ability to make decisions independent- Increased ability to multi-task, prioritize for self with little supervision, shift priorities and support more complex projects as product knowledge develops.- Provide technical guidance, and serves as a point of contact for clients/users, external contacts, and internal colleagues. Is a resource to provide advice to others on technical issues.Position Requirements- Bachelor's Degree required- Typically has 5 to 7 years related experience- Knowledge and understanding of insurance principles, including underwriting, pricing, rating, product development and contracts.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment- Underwriting Experience a plus- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills- Excellent time management skills- Effectively manage multiple priorities and objectives to meet deliverables.- Effective in cultivating strong business relationships, able to overcome obstacles and find common ground for pursuing business opportunities. Able to identify and pull the right people/functions together to create plans and resolve problems.- A high level of independent decision making and judgment is required- Proactively identifies present and future obstacles, issues, and opportunities; takes actions to address such obstacles, issues, and opportunities.- Easily adapts to new, different, or changing situations, requirements, or priorities. Has an understanding and appreciation of individual differences.- Prior Experience in writing and interpreting business requirements is a plus- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database applicationsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
