Blue Shield of California (BSC) is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our Employer Internet Services team. This position will be responsible for developing and managing a best-in-class online plan administration and reporting experiences for BSC Employers on blueshieldca.com.

This position integrates strategic priorities with the goals and objectives of the eBusiness organization to strengthen brand positioning through the online channel. It partners with key stakeholders to develop a shared vision of online offerings as an integral component of overall employer strategies, acting as champion of the online channel and its added value.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating, aligning, and communicating the vision, strategy, and multi-year road map for Employer self service. The skills needed to be successful in this role include strong product management and product strategy experience, excellent partnering and collaboration skills, and a strong customer orientation. You must possess the tenacity and imagination to drive the future roadmap and product enhancement queue for the group online plan administration experience from concept to completion.

This position will report to the Senior Manager of Employer Product Management, Employer Internet Services and will be located in our corporate office in Downtown San Francisco.

Primary Responsibilities:

o End-to-end ownership of the online enrollment, maintenance, and reporting experience, including HR administrator workflow solutions; eligibility and benefits display, and member roster and census reporting tools.

o Partners with management, three business units and stakeholders to establish and align the Employer Self Service vision, strategy, and multi-year road map.

o Communicates strategy and vision to department, internal partners, and management.

o Provides lead level support in health plan business analysis, internet product development and product management of day-to-day operations

o Leads the process for business case development, ROI analysis, feasibility, and new product recommendations.

o Conducts business environment assessments and product life cycle evaluations. Assesses market trends, customer needs and product capability to identify new product opportunities

o Translates business and user needs into product features and services. Reviews and prioritizes requirements for the whole product.

o Analyzes data across channels to define adoption strategies and goals for the product. Defines value proposition, develops and prioritizes promotional activities and adoption tactics for the product. Creates training plan and materials.

o Becomes the expert in the products being supported. Proactively monitors complex issues, defects and enhancements with high stakeholder/user impact to implementation. Directs the work of business, technology or vendor partners to research and analyze issues to determine root causes. Recommends course of action and manages implementation of solution. Ensures product documents are updated.

Job Requirements:

o Bachelors degree and 8-10 years of relevant product management experience in healthcare or related industry.
