- Job DescriptionThe Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Product Planning Manager is responsible for all product definition and planning activities for the Xilinx Aerospace & Defense FPGA, SW, tools and IP portfolios. The Product Planning Manager is responsible for managing A&D market requirements through the entire product lifecycle (i.e. creation, traceability and verification). The position requires close collaboration with customers, System Architects and Application Engineers in addition to managing cross-functional teams. The job responsibilities include product planning, business development, and product forecasting. Responsible for insuring complete alignment with mid-term and long-term strategic and operating goals. Specific DutiesResponsibilities include, but not limited to: Define A&D product requirements for next generation FPGA products, embedded processor based platforms, SW, tools, IP and development kits by gathering technical customer requirements through customer visits and delivering the requirements to product planning teams via Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD). Develop and implement leading-edge defense-grade and space-grade product portfolios for the A&D market. Gathering technical customer requirements through customer segmentation and customer needs assessment (customer visits and interviews). Manage cross-functional teams (design, engineering, operations, quality, system architects, sales, finance and quality) to insure closure and executive sign-off on product plan of records. Work with A&D system architects and application engineering to develop use cases and business plans. Manage the A&D requirements database (Cradle) in which the A&D market requirements are managed through the entire product lifecycle.. Create and manage the A&D forecast for FPGAs and embedded processor platforms. Define clear value propositions, through thorough understanding of customer needs, following market trends, and monitoring the competition. Create and present A&D market specific competitive analysis and competitor responses. Develop and present market specific marketing and sales tools highlighting the product strengths and competitive advantages of Xilinx products for key A&D market segments. Ecosystem development support, including related technical platform solution definition. Preference given to those candidates with a demonstrated ability to understand electronic systems. The most successful candidates will have innovative marketing ideas to drive growth of the A&D business. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of success in marketing technical products.
- Required Position Qualifications Minimum BSEE/ BSCE/BSCS +10 years of work-related experience defining and developing FPGA or ASIC solutions Understanding of A&D market segments fundamentals (MILCOM, Avionics, Space, Electronics Warfare, etc.) Experience with system engineering principles (specifically requirements management) through the entire product lifecycle (i.e. creation, traceability and verification) Ability to work with cross-functional teams Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills Ability to take multiple requirements from customers and consolidate into a single product plan

- Demonstrated ability to create MRDs with Return on Investment (ROI) analysis Highly motivated self starter able to work with minimal supervision Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment Willing to travel The successful candidate must travel to A&D customer sites and may be required to apply for a US security clearance. As a result, US citizenship is required.
