Sr. Project Manager, Manufacturing
This position will be instrumental in helping Babcock
and Wilcox best optimize our manufacturing resources on
a global basis. The successful candidate will be the
focal point for implementing and executing strategic
changes on a global basis in support of our expanding
footprint. This project will have direct visibility to
the board of directors and be integral in leading a
transformational change of the organization.
We are seeking a Project Manager, Manufacturing to
lead efforts to rationalize the global manufacturing
footprint to align with current and future expected
business forecasts.
Work with Manufacturing Vice President and Regioanal
directors to develop and support initiatives to meet
strategic goals.
* Act as Project Manager for overall planning,
coordination, execution, delivery and completion of
large, multi-location projects on a global basis, on
time and within budget
Lead cross functional project team(s) throughout the
life of the project, engaging teams to achieve project
deliverables and milestones
Extensive communication at various levels including
internal customers and senior leadership to provide
timely project status and obtain necessary resources
Proven ability to guide change and influence decision
making, across various business functions and at various
levels within the organization
Contact, coordinate, partner and influence outside
vendors in development and/or delivery of new products,
equipment and/or processes. Be able to act in a role as
a Product or Systems engineer in this respect
Ensure project objectives (including safety, quality,
cost and on time installations) are achieved
Additional Information
40% domestic and international travel is required
(more may be required at beginning of position)
Job Qualifications / Requirements *
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in technical and/or engineering
curriculum, business/management, or commensurate
demonstrated professional experience
Knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing
processes generally associated with ten or more years'
experience in manufacturing / quality assurance
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean
Prior experience with obtaining ISO 9000/1/14000/1 (or
similar quality system) certification
Five plus years of project managerial experience
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Proven team facilitation skills and public
speaking/presentation ability
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the manufacturing of complex mechanical
components with domestic and international locations
Green Belt Certification and ISO 9000 Auditor
Certification preferred
Thorough understanding of statistical process control
