Sr. Project Management Associate
The Project/Sr. Project Management Associate will be required to manage projects from concept start to production while collaborating with designers, engineers, marketing teams, planners, and others throughout the process. The Barbie Product Development team is a cohesive team of talented and knowledgeable individuals seeking a team member with equally strong project management and technical skills. ' Manage multiple projects while maintaining cost and scheduling targets.
' Utilize engineering skills in a team environment to move concepts from ideation to successful transfer to offshore development.
' Work closely with overseas development, tooling, and manufacturing to ensure successful project completion.
' Act as liaison between El Segundo teams and overseas locations throughout the product life cycle.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Review concept sketches and provide technical and costing support for products in the preliminary design phase.
' Work with external development sources to engineer the toy.
' Manage project schedules and product costs, in addition to the overall Lifecycle management of the product in PLM.
' Support tool build, making engineering changes as required and supporting debug during tool fabrication and production piloting
' Work in a cross-functional team environment with Design, Packaging, Product Integrity, Planning, Cost Engineering, Model Shop, Electrical Engineering, Materials Lab, Sculpting, manufacturing plants, and offshore development sources.
Experience, Education & Skills
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor s degree or equivalent degree required
At least 3 years of project management experience
An understanding of engineering principles and practices, and the manufacturing processes required.
A knowledge of plastics and plastic part design
Proven ability to juggle multiple projects, make quick decisions and possess excellent problem-solving skills
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or similar
5-7 years of relevant project management experience
Experience or knowledge with Pro/ENGINEER and/or 3-D CAD drawings
Agile PLM experience
Knowledge of soft goods and sewing processes
Project management experience in consumer products
Experience working with overseas (mostly, Asian) locations is a plus
