Position Description

The ADME/Tox group at MilliporeSigma is seeking an experienced and motivated candidate for a full-time Senior Scientist position at our Biotechnology R&D facility in St. Louis. The successful candidate will work in a project-focused environment and be part of an active, multidisciplinary group of scientists responsible for the design and development of novel cell-based products within the field of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics and toxicology (ADME/Tox).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

* Identify and evaluate new product or improvement opportunities in ADME/Tox, especially in the area of drug metabolism and transporter assays

* Interact with internal and external experts on drug metabolism and transporters

* Design and execute high quality experimental procedures

* Train new personnel and act as a technical consultant as needed

* Review scientific results and procedures

* Develop multiple solutions to technical problems

* Communicate the status of projects and elevate issues to the attention of manager

* Monitor scientific literature to maintain a leading expertise within the field

* Act as a recognizable scientific resource across groups/departments

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Education/Experience: PhD degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Toxicology or a related Life Sciences field; or a MS degree with three or more years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills: Substantial experience and/or knowledge of the ADME/Tox field is required. We are looking specifically for a candidate with experience and detailed knowledge of in vitro cell based assay development for screening molecules and associated technologies. In particular, a strong background and experience in drug metabolism and transporters is desired. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and creative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and computer skills are also vital for success.
