Senior Security Architect
Position Description
Senior Security Architect position with a fast growing company in the healthcare information processing industry. The successful candidate would work with the IT, Development, Security, and Risk teams to help define, develop, and deploy a security architecture framework. Strong technical skills will be applied in defining and implementing standards, processes, and solution designs.
The Senior Security Architect would leverage their technical skills and architectural skills to work hands-on with multiple disciplines to define infrastructure and application architectures and standards, and work directly with teams to advise and support them on implementing these architectures. It is an opportunity to both use strong technical and organizational skills to forge an effective roadmap for secure and efficient information processing.

Learn and understand business strategy and requirements
Translate business strategy and requirements into security architecture and control framework
Recommend and assist with implementation of solutions, standards, processes which reflect both the business needs and the security architecture requirements
Proactively work with developers and product teams to ensure fidelity to the architectural vision and security requirements
Continually work to improve security posture by guiding IT solutions and processes into the secure architecture framework over time as part of a defined roadmap
Integrate secure design requirements in the system and software development life cycle
Security oversight and participation on significant technology projects
Creation of system security plans and roadmaps, outlining key risk controls
Work directly with the business and technology on with the creation of information security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Work with the tech development teams on creation of secure software configuration standards


Strong technical skills in multiple disciplines, including application development and communication, virtualization, cloud computing, networking, and operating systems
Strong understanding of security principles and their application in an enterprise IT environment
Knowledge of tiered application architectures, web front-ends/server-side apps, application, and relational databases.
Experience with APIs such as REST, SOAP, SOA
Knowledge of secure application development and OWASP guidance, within a context of an AGILE development methodology
Experience with security operations and incident response, threat assessment and intelligence
Experience with the NIST security framework, as well as architectural frameworks like TOGAF 9.1 or SABSA
Experienced with enterprise security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, SIEM, proxy and content filtering, VPN, multi-factor authentication, encryption
Strong communications skills, able to translate complex security and technical concepts to understandable and usable information for both technical and non-technical management and staff
Heathcare experience a plus
