Sr. Software Engineer (Services-SOA)

B US citizen or permanent resident only. /B BR BR B Position Description: /B BR You will be working on large scale transformational initiative building a new global, mission critical freight forwarding solution that is based on a service oriented architecture driven by complex rules and business processes. Job responsibilities include working with technical, functional teams in designing, developing and prototyping technical solutions. Mentoring and training less experienced developers in developing and bringing continuous improvements to the way Services are developed. Developing test cases and ensuring that code is tested prior to hand-off to Quality Assurance team. Coordinating version control and system builds; coordinating deployment efforts. BR BR B Responsibilities: /B BR UL LI Work with technical, functional teams in design and development of Services. LI Create well-designed, reusable objects in SOA environment and test plans. LI Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards to maintain the excellent code quality. LI Apply best practices and consistently develop high-quality services on schedule. LI Contribute to project deliverable templates and standards (including coding standards, etc). LI Share knowledge with others by contributing to our growing knowledge base /LI /UL P B U Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: /U /B /P UL LI Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the related field LI 6+ years experience developing, deploying and supporting complex computing applications in a large scale environment LI 2+ years Java experience LI 1+ year Web Services LI 2 years of hands on experience with XML, XSD, XPath, and XSLT. Excellent debugging skills and the ability to optimize code for performance tuning LI Experience developing in all phases of the full SDLC of a project is required. LI Able to operate in a Scrum or Agile development environment LI Ability to apply design concepts - layered architectures, components, interfaces, messaging and patterns. LI Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments. LI Exposure working across a global organization. LI Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills demonstrated through successfully leading large and complex change initiatives LI Able to priorities and execute tasks in a high pressure environment /LI /UL P B U Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience: /U /B /P UL LI 2+ years of hands on experience in SOA Environment creating right granular reusable services. LI Previous Supply Chain or Logistics industry experience strongly preferred LI Experience using the following technologies is a plus: TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Platform, Service Oriented Architectures.
