JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the Senior Application Developer is to provide coding mastery in the full development lifecycle and support activities of applications.

Experience with Web APIs a must-this person must bring some expertise with Web-APIs

Tech stack: C#, ASP.NET, Angular JS, CSS, HTML, Web APIs, SQL Server and Oracle-you do not have to have all of these technologies. Going to Angular 2.0 later this year

Exposure to Azure is a plus

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

" Ability and passion to write quality code efficiently in order to develop new systems and maintain existing systems on an enterprise scale.

" Responsibility to collaborate, create and enforce development strategies for best practice application development including proper system design patterns, coding standards, and preferred styles of a language.

" Responsibility to ensure the system has adequate unit testing and verification to ensure all code changes and the impacted sub-systems are tested prior to making a production deployment.

" Manage day-to-day 3rd tier support, application run books and provide input on strategic direction to ensure the application's overall health.

" Responsible for managing source code ensuring a code manifest is up-to-date and that regular, successful builds of the system are occurring. Additionally, ensure the latest production compiled, source files, resources etc. are available and orderly.

" Works independently and as project team leadership positions as necessary and provides regular status updates to supervisor outlining the status of all ongoing activities of the system.

" Assist and lead as an escalation point when working through system problems including production outages. Ability to provide articulate status updates, provide thoughtful recommendations for remediation, and respond with urgency with direction provided by management.

" Work with vendors and internal S.M.E. to create documentation on existing system and understand functional requirements of the system.

" Lead in continued establishment of the strategic roadmap for IT systems including architectural designs, user and process designs.

" Assist and lead in establishing project plans, goals and objectives for development efforts.

" Assist and lead in identifying business requirements and functional specification for development efforts.

" Responsibility to create and enforce change management procedures ensuring every implementation has adequate implementation/roll back plans in place.

" Ability to learn emerging technologies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

" 4-year college degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, M.I.S. or equivalent.

" Minimum 8-10years hands-on experience in application development.

" During their time in development, has mastered at least one programming language including the ability to design, code, and test in that language with the ability to teach others to do the same.

o Ability to document as-is and new systems in technical or layman's terms as needed.

o Ability to document system flow with diagrams as needed.

" Ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision while staying on task and within the scope requested.

" Clearly thinking through solutions resulting in concise and comprehensive technical designs.

" Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment.

" Must have good organization, creative, & analytical skills.

" Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and demonstrate the ability to work well with others.

" Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems.

" Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
