Job Description

The Sr. Staff Accountant reports to the Financial Services Accounting Manager, North American Operations.� This role primarily supports the EZ Money operations segment, which offers a variety of short-term consumer loan products. A major function of this role will include process improvement by streamlining and automating processes through identifying opportunities, working with internal resources, documenting data flow, and project progression tracking. Other functions include monthly close responsibilities; ensuring proper accounting, reconciliations and analysis, new product involvement and high level of service to our internal customers. The prospective candidate must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven with the ability to use independence and judgment to recognize and resolve problems within established policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager and reviewed for accuracy and timeliness.


Key Areas of Responsibility will include:




-Accounting process improvement (identify opportunity, develop solutions using available resources, track, test, document and implement process changes)
-Prepare and analyze assigned financial statements
-Analyze actual to budget variances
-Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts timely and accurately
-Monitor store activity for proper accounting and respond timely to field management questions regarding store level income statements
-Work with Accounting Manager to document and implement accounting control procedures to ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance
-Completes other duties as assigned

-Process improvement experience
-Microsoft Office expert proficiencies in Excel; Access experience preferred
-ERP experience preferred
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting
-Proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy; and time management and organizational skills


Educational Requirements:



-Bachelor�� s degree or equivalent from a four year college or university and at least five years of related experience.
-CPA or equivalent preferred, but not required.
