JOB DESCRIPTIONWe currently have an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Systems Analyst - Logistics located at our Ewing, NJ headquarters.
The Logistics Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for implementing, leveraging, and developing creative solutions to solve business needs in the area of Logistics technology. This may include, but is not limited to, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management System (LMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).","Responsibilities:Implementing:
Provide leadership for all Logistics Technology initiatives; this includes new site start-ups as well as system enhancements to all existing and new locations.
Follow C&D Corporate IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process which includes:
Creating User Requirements, Functional Design Specification document and Test Scripts
Supporting system related Business Transition Management activities and/or deliverable creation
Identifying, Maintaining WMS/LMS functional master data, profiles, and parameters according to business requirements in the WMS and LMS applications
Execute unit, integration, and/or user acceptance testing using company standard tools and procedures
Conduct and document training using company standard tools and procedures
Provide project hyper-care and ongoing production support
Support scoping and project mobilization activities
Network with systems users to identify business issues/opportunities to streamline or bring efficiencies to the operation.
Collaborate with IT resources to plan and coordinate overall project timing and task allocation, financial and ongoing support requirements.
Full understanding of all systems that interface with WMS/LMS, specifically SAP ECC, SAP PI, Sterling TMS and Sterling EDI
Communicate/coordinate with site management and corporate IT any changes in procedures, equipment, and/or standards
Update existing documentation to reflect changes in procedures, equipment, or standards.
Serve as a primary support contact for assigned business system area
Respond to support requests submitted by users using standard tools and processes
Monitors training need, develops/updates content, and delivers on-going training as appropriate
Conducts business needs analysis, documents results as business requirements and proposed related business process changes and validates the needs with business leads
Liaises between business users and IT counterparts to identify, shape, test, and deploy enhancements, fixes, upgrades using company standard tools and procedures
Identify best practices at locations and share with other operations
Provide reporting and analysis as required
Collaborate with Corporate IT to:
Assess severity and impact of system issues
Communicate and coordinate with the user/user base during issue resolution
Implement corrective actions related to business process, use compliance, master data, and training
Labor Engineered Standards:
Evaluate and document operations, work area design, process flow and work methods for improved efficiency.
Monitor the correctness of the installed standards on a continuous basis; conduct follow-up studies to verify standards.
Collect the data necessary to update the current standards to reflect any changes to an operation.
Update Labor Management System of changes to existing standards or the introduction of new standards.
Maintain complete records of all time studies or other data used to change standards.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, with focus on systems or engineering preferred
5+ years WMS experience required, Swisslog preferred, or LMS experience
5+ years SAP experience is required.
Distribution operations experience required
Knowledge of and ability to perform data gathering, analysis, and process flow redesign.
Ability to conduct time and motion studies.
Knowledge of process improvement principles and methodologies.
Knowledge of distribution operations (i.e., shipping, receiving, layouts, flow patterns, freight, traffic).
Ability to retrieve data via
Microsoft Excel expertise is required
Strong math, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to identify and transfer “Best Practices to business operations.
Ability to organize, develop, and implement action plans or projects.
Ability to interact with and maintain relationships with individuals from all organization levels.
Skill in writing technical documentation.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
