Sr. Systems Architect

Paramount Pictures, one of the leading entertainment studios, IT division has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Systems Architect. You will take an active role in the management of our Server and Storage Environments. This position is part of a team of architects and engineers that are responsible for Paramount Pictures entire commodity and mid-range server infrastructure across a heterogeneous platform landscape that includes Posix operating systems (e.g. LINUX and UNIX) and Microsoft Windows. This position is also responsible for a tiered Storage Infrastructure that includes various storage solutions from EMC, IBM, DDN and Isilon and uses multiple protocols for storage networking including CIFS, NFS, FCP and iSCSI. This position is responsible for the management of Paramount Pictures? servers and storage infrastructure services that are deployed throughout the U.S., Canada and 8 other countries worldwide. Candidate will join a team of infrastructure architects to serve as subject matter expert (SME) in various IT infrastructure services.

Eesponsible for design, configuration, implementation, oversight, management and strategic planning of all activities relating to server and storage infrastructure services. This includes engineering services for network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN), Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux and various flavors of UNIX, Microsoft Active Directory and other directory services. This role is also responsible for managing the day to day support and administration of these systems, excluding level 1 operational support. Candidate must have experience with supporting large, complex and heterogeneous system and network installations. Responsible for the design, architecture and deployment of technology infrastructure to deliver systems and services with high availability and reliability
*Develops departmental specifications, policies, procedures and standards to guide the management of the server, storage and networking infrastructure
*Responsible for ensuring that policies, procedures and standards are being followed
*Manages and coordinates work with other IT departments to deliver systems and services
*Participates actively in the planning of IT Infrastructure strategy to meet the business goals of the company as a member of the IT Infrastructure senior management team
*Acts as infrastructure technical project manager by preparing project plans, interacting with other departments and guiding IT resources
*Interacts closely with management across departments
*Confers with and advises peers and IT Infrastructure management on technical problems, priorities, and methods
*Develops evaluation parameters for technological enhancements. Reviews and recommends technology to IT Infrastructure management and participates in the systems planning process
*Candidate will be actively involved in the development of server, storage and networking strategy
*Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
*Acts as senior level escalation to analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware, OS and applications software
*Candidate will work under general direction from senior IT management
Basic qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent work experience is required
*Minimum 7 years experience and solid understanding of LINUX, UNIX and Windows based operating systems. Specific experience with RedHat LINUX, HPUX, Solaris and the HW platforms they run on is required
*Minimum 5 years management and administration of complex and heterogeneous system and network installations
*Experience in managing solution lifecycles (design, POC, deploy, operate, migrate)
*Experience with Active Directory, , Cisco UCS, Vmware (Vsphere, Vcenter), NLB, Clustering, IIS, SCCM, SCOM
*Experience with SAN and storage arrays and be able to perform routine tasks such as SAN zoning, LUN masking, filesystem creations
