JOB SUMMARY:

PROVIDES SENIOR-LEVEL TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT OF THE PRODUCTION APPLICATION SYSTEMS. WORKS WITH SOFTWARE ENGINEERS TO ASSIST ON PRODUCT DESIGN, SYSTEMS ANALYSIS, AND PROGRAMMING ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING AUTOMATION, WHICH MAY REQUIRE SOME RESEARCH. MANAGES SOFTWARE RELEASES AND MONITORS PRODUCTIONS SYSTEMS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER RELEASES. MAINTAINS COMMUNICATION CHANNELS BETWEEN OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT (DEVOPS) TO ENSURE COOPERATION BETWEEN TEAMS.

Members of an agile development process team. They are responsible for the design and implementation of applications build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, managing operations, and triaging and fixing operational issues.

Must be able to adjust to constant business change, common types of changes include new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies. Requires the ability to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with clients, vendors, partners, and all levels of company management.


KNOWLEDGE: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of this area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Working with a development team on bi-weekly deliverables supporting project goals.

EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree or equivalent on-the-job experience.

Preferred requirements:

* Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance. Familiar with Agile development methodology. Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
* Linux Server experience. Red Hat and CentOS specifically. Java applications that run inside Tomcat.
* Automation Scripting Bash, Python, Perl, Powershell
* SQL database servers. Windows and Microsoft SQL Server skills needed.
* VMWare Enterprise environment.
* Application servers connect through load balance and traffic manager server, Riverbed/Brocade Stingray/Virtual traffic manager experience
* 24/7 Monitoring of production applications such as AppDynamics and SolarWinds
* Working knowledge of applicable object-oriented software languages (preferably Java, C# , C ).
