Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Voice Engineer
Location: Falls Church, VA.
Start: ASAP
Engagement: 8 Months+
Travel: 0%
JOB SUMMARY
This resource will provide expertise (task-based, operational) in Client's Headquarters facilities. The resource will
provide technical consultation to the Client and provide support to on-going projects.
. Design solution to requirements and guide implementation for new sites, and existing PBX system expansion or
enhancement projects as assigned
o Conduct site visits, discovery meetings with designated site owner to assess the voice needs and provide a site
voice assessment and recommended solutions
o Working with PBX, VoIP and Network Engineers design solutions for requirements, review system
proposals and complete Technology Purchase Orders (ITPO) as required
o Work with designated IT staff to coordinate the site completion
o Manage a project plan for the implementation team
o Manage the installation of the system, and services to meet the customer's expectations
o Attend meeting or conference calls as requested.
o Attend and provide support during cut-over when requested
o Conduct a transitional meeting between installation team and operations
o Provide/update documentation for the IT Voice On-call book.
. Monitor the Voice infrastructure and provide recommendations on improvements
o Schedule Preventative Maintenance (PM) for each PBX, Voice Messaging system and Contact Center
o Twenty-three CS1000's and twenty-six key systems totaling 26,000 stations
o Assess the PBX voice traffic annually and provide a written assessment and any recommendations for
infrastructure improvements or cost reductions
. Review monthly service invoices and assigned correct cost center before forwarding to system for
designated approval
. Review and existing PRI circuits and LD for potential savings by converting to VoIP technology
. Provide Disaster Preparedness guidance for departments as requested
o Meet with requesting departments and assess their voice needs during a disaster
o Provide written recommendations
o Provide a revised switch Re-Direct spreadsheet for approval if required

REQUIRED:
. VoIP - Heavy Experience
. Nortel PBX - Heavy Experience
. BCM
. VoIP-SIP
PREFERRED:
. Avaya
. Project Management
EDUCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Certifications: Any of the following:
. CCNA
. CCNA-Voice
. CCVP
