JOB DESCRIPTIONPart-time or full-time administrative assistant position available in MGH Neurology Department Nerve Unit for a small clinical research team with part-time clinical outpatient activity. Flexible hours.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.
Working under close supervision of Dr. Oaklander, the director, the incumbent will help with these duties:
* Clinical responsibilities include helping to schedule 1-3 half-day clinic sessions weekly, helping maintain patient records and returning patient calls. Prior experience with patients and MGH systems and software such as Epic is a plus.
* Research responsibilities depend on experience, but could include helping with, organizing, and filing paper records pertaining to our research, (i.e. IRB and grant files and some reprints). Help research coordinators communicate with research subjects.
* Other responsibilities include arranging trips and lectures for 2 faculty and submitting reimbursements, occasional letters to send, placing and tracking purchase orders.
* Perform basic data entry involving information collected from patients or research subjects.
Good communication and English writing skills
Strong organizational and office skills, including computer and word-processing.
Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as part of a team
High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Specify minimum creditable years of experience and clearly indicate if preferred or required
1-2 years of related experience. Preferred candidates will have previous experience in a research setting.

Job location is in the Warren building on main campus in downtown Boston, MA.
