Job Description

Our Landing Systems Business Unit headquartered in Troy, Ohio designs, tests and manufactures a wide range of fully integrated landing systems. Our innovative solutions include lighter-weight, high-strength materials; more electric technologies; DURACARB(R) carbon friction material; EDL(R) extended life configurations; and innovative gear and wheel design.

We have an immediate opening for a _Staff Mechanical Engineer_ specializing in dynamics at our facility in Troy, Ohio. The primary function of this role is to provide design leadership through all stages of the wheel and brake product life cycle as it relates to braking induced vibration.

The duties and responsibilities include:


Provide leadership in developing technology in the area of new CAE tools (computer aided engineering) and experimental methods.

Create and validate dynamics models, using ANSYS and other CAE tools

Determine the parameters of the dynamometer test program for development and (i.e.: fixture design/settings, stop parameters, etc.).

Provide testing oversight supporting data acquisition and analysis.

Maintain tools (instrumentation, macros, scripts, etc) needed for support across programs.

Provide design recommendations on the basis of models and test results.

The ideal candidate will have the following combination of skill and experience:


BSME or Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering, MSME or PhD in ME preferred

10-15years of Mechanical Engineering experience (based on education) in Aerospace, Automotive or Heavy Vehicle/Machinery industry.

Must be able to work on multiple projects at any given time and interact with multiple internal customers.

Demonstrated programming experience

Intermediate to expert in design and development with modeling proficiency (modal analysis & stability assessment) with CAE software platforms (UGNX, ANSYS etc.)


Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
