We currently have positions available for Staff Nurses
(RN s) at Del Amo Hospital. Del Amo Hospital is a
166-bed behavioral health facility that is located in
the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Varied shifts
available; some weekend availability required. We offer

The Staff Nurse provides safe and effective nursing care
in their assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with
the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and within
the framework of established policies and procedures of
the Department of Nursing Services. As a key team member
in the clinical area, the Staff Nurse promotes a climate
of effective performance and learning through role
modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and
availability to patients and staff.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Completes assessments for each patient including
but not limited to psychosocial status,
patient/family learning needs and discharge
2. Utilizes appropriate observation level for patient;
completes plan of care; formulates a nursing
diagnosis based upon assessment findings. Reviews
plan of care daily and modifies as patient s
condition changes.
3. Organizes and directs care of patients, setting
priorities and assigning most skilled staff to care
for most acutely ill patients.
4. Intervenes in managing complex patient care
situations utilizing departmental policies and
procedures that promote most facilitative
alternatives. Prioritizes interventions in rapidly
changing patient situations.
5. Documents education about medications, disease
symptom identification, social skills, stress
management, and impulse control regulation.
6. Completes daily documentation of patient s
condition and care legibly in Nursing Notes;
completes charting on all assigned patients, in
progress notes and all pertinent graphics, as well
as pertinent status reports by end of shift.
7. Transcribes and administers medications and
treatments accurately.
8. Continuously monitors acuity of unit; formulates
staff assignments.
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing or
baccalaureate program
required Current licensure as a Registered nurse
through the
State of California Board of Registered Nursing required
certification required Clinical experience in a
setting preferred Charge Nurse: Minimum one (1) year
psychiatric nursing or one (1) year experience as a
Charge Nurse
