JOB DESCRIPTIONMORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS JOB:
Assists in the planning, implementing and evaluating health maintenance and health education programs in the plant. Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of employees. Prepares and maintains patient clinical records. Assists in evaluating the occupational health and safety efforts and recommends changes. Participates in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety, including legal regulation applicable to health and safety. Maintain OSHA reporting requirements , tracking of all on the job injuries and maintains a working relationship with the insurance carrier for workman's compensation.

Assess employee illness/injuries and administer appropriate initial and follow up treatment. Make medical referrals as needed. Provide and participate in employee health promotion activities.
Document treatment, initiate and follow up on workers compensation claims, initiate accident investigation reports, establish and maintain employee health records.
Complete the pre-placement screening process to include review of health history. Assist in administering physical assessment. Assist with conducting hearing tests. Assist with return to work physicals.
Assist in the administration of workers compensation. Serve as liaison with insurance carrier, health provider and company. Understand workers compensation law to be prepared to participate in workers compensation hearing and mediations.
Must be able to work both 1st and 2nd shifts to fill in for vacationing co-workers.
Safety committee participation.
Other duties as assigned.

* LPN certification
* Current certification in First Aid/CPR/AED
* Occupational Health Nurse certification a plus
* Working knowledge of state workers compensation law.
* Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, e-mail
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Background in trauma nursing, ER or critical care area helpful
* Good decision maker and ability to perform in stressful situations
* Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus
