Job Description
Job Description and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
1) Produce detailed designs for OEM laser diode modules and optical sensor systems that include optical components such as lasers, lenses, mirrors, prisms, photodetectors, and polarizers.
2) Perform laboratory testing of laser systems and optical designs versus key performance specifications.
3) Troubleshoot customer field problems and production issues for both the laser module and laser test and measurements product lines.
4) Conduct applications testing for customers on both the laser diode module and optical sensor product lines.
5) Other photonics design, test, and troubleshooting responsibilities may be added in the future as business conditions evolve.
Education and Work Experience
Background and Education:
1) B.S. or higher in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, or Physics
2) 7 years work experience in several of the following areas (recent graduates will also be considered for a more junior level position):
a) Extensive laboratory experience with photonics test and measurement (measurement of M2, beam profile, spectral, optical noise, optical power, pulse energy, etc.)
b) Optical design of commercial laser, LED, lamp, or optical sensor based products
c) Opto-mechanical design (Solidworks, Autocad, ProE)
d) Troubleshooting performance issues with laser systems and optical assemblies
e) Optics design with Zemax
