Arkema Inc. is activiely recruiting for a Staff Process Engineer to primarily support our Beaumont facility. The position reports directly the
Technical Manager and will provide technical assistance and plant operation asisstance as needed. The position requires direct interactions with other departmental managers and staff postions to exchange information and ideas directly related to the success of the Beaumont Plant and the Thiochemicals group.
Position reports directly to the Technology Manager and provides technical assistance for plant operations. Position requires direct interaction with other departmental managers and staff positions to exchange information and ideas directly related to the success of the Beaumont Plant and Thiochemicals Group.
Production Data : Responsible for ensuring optimal production and process enhancements of the following products at the Beaumont plant: Methyl Mercaptan, Ethyl Mercaptan, Dimethyl Sulfide, Hydrogen Sulfide, Acrolein and MMP; or the
People Data: Responsible for the training of Operations personnel and other staff in technical issues.
Financial Data: Responsible for the calculation of and evaluation of raw material consumption and production data for the Beaumont Plants.
Process Data: Responsible for the historization of plant process data, Asset utilization calculations, and interpretation of process conditions.
Environmental Goal: Support full environmental compliance and optimal environmental performance.
Ensure that permit compliance data and new permit applications are reviewed and are consistent with best engineering practices.
Safety Goal: Support full compliance of all Safety related regulatory requirements including: OSHA, PSM, RMP and Company Policies and programs (MSM). Ensure that timely response of technical review is completed for incident investigations and action items developed and implemented (Impact).
Operation and Technical Goal: Maximize operational efficiency and continuously identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement. Support Plant initiatives for new product development, Process Technology Projects, and debottlenecking efforts. Provide assistance to Operations during plant turnarounds, emergency operations, and any other time technical assistance is required. Ensure production accounting data are timely and accurate.
Professional Development Goal: Develop skills required to support the Beaumont Plant and Thio Chemicals Group through professional development of technical skills, interpersonal relationship skills, management skills, and community relations. Ensure that specific goals are developed that correspond with Plant objectives and initiatives.
HSEQ responsibilities include but are not restricted to those outlined in Leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner.
BSCHE from an accredited University plus five years of industry experience.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical processing to achieve production goals. Communication and presentation skills are necessary to convey interpretations of process data and recommendations for improvement.
