GENERAL SUMMARY

The Heart Center at Nationwide Childrens is looking for a qualified pediatric cardiac nurse to work in the Non-Invasive Cardiology department and the Cardiology Clinic. The patient population in both departments are patients from birth to adulthood that have congenital heart defects. The Non-Invasive department is made up of diagnostic testing such as Echo, EKG/Holters and Exercise and both inpatient and outpatients are scheduled for their testing in this department. The role that this RN would play in the Non-Invasive department is as a sedation nurse. This will require the RN to work closely with the Echo department to facilitate conscious sedation to our patients that are having cardiac echos. The Cardiology Clinic department is an outpatient service offered on the campus, around central Ohio and even in Ashland Kentucky. The RNs role is to assess patients being seen while collaborating with the physician and the rest of the team about the patients care. Both departments are located in the same area so all of the staff work together daily to provide the best quality of care to all of are patients.

Please note, this position is call-in/contingent.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an approved school of nursing; BSN preferred: current Ohio RN licensure; One year of acute nursing experience required, prefer cardiology experience; Must enjoy working in a fast paced environment with a diverse patient population; Requires excellent proven customer service skills and the ability to function within a multidisciplinary team. Must pass Pediatric Dosage Calculation Exam at 100% post offer & pre-hire.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation and care for oneself with little or no difficulty

Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs

Must be able to move of reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment
