The Staff QA Test Engineers will author, design and execute Test procedures for CMTS routing features.
Develop test suites for regression of existing features and functionality.
Review Functional product specs, and industry specs as required to create and execute test plans.
Write bug reports for product defects found during system test.
Work with automation team to automate manual tests.
Review product requirements and system design to develop new test suites.
Participate in test and product documentation review.
Works with developers, architects and other QA team members to provide support during the entire project life cycle.
Experience (type & duration): 5-10 years experience developing and testing complex routing networks including installation, troubleshooting, verification, and test plan documentation
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and technology switched and routed environment
Expert knowledge of IP routing protocols, for both IPv4 and IPv6.
OSPFv2/OSPFv3, ISIS/Multi-topology, BGP/MP-BGP, VLANs, Link Aggregation, MPLS L2VPN/L3VPN
Test tool experience IXIA IxExplorer, IxNetwork, IxANVL, Wireshark
Extensive knowledge of RFC/IEEE specifications and standards as they apply in a system application.
Understanding of DOCSIS Coax and RF networks is desirable but not required
Working knowledge of operating systems, networking standards and protocols.
Ability to deal with complex situations, to analytically identify cause and affect relationships and assist in logically developing action plans.
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to document requirements, test plans, test designs and project status. Manage time effectively, from day to day time to project schedules in a dynamic environment.
Automated test development and scripting would be a bonus but not required.
Accreditation/certifications/licenses: CISCO and Juniper certifications a plus but not required.
Basic Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent job experience. 3 years minimum testing experience.
