Statistics/Econometrics Manager (Energy Industry)
Oakland, CA

Location and team

KEMA's Sustainable Use Consulting group is seeking an energy industry professional with expertise in Statistics and Econometrics to work out of our Oakland, CA office. This individual will be expected to lead and provide advanced technical contributions to energy research and evaluation efforts throughout the US. The successful candidate will train and mentor junior staff, lead teams to perform advanced data collection and complex analyses, and interface with clients.

Tasks may include
Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

Manage projects, including client interaction, developing analysis plans and leading an analytical team
Explore, manipulate and perform quality control on a wide variety of energy data and analyses
Develop sampling frames and designs for surveys and other primary data collection
Perform and lead statistical analysis and develop statistical models with energy and related data based on existing KEMA methods
Expand KEMA's quantitative and statistical offerings in forecasting, structural equations modeling, etc.
Use and train others to use SAS™ PROCs including REG, GLM, LOGISTIC, LIFEREG, LIFETEST, MIXED, SURVEYMEANS, GPLOT
Transfer SAS results to other frameworks via ODS, SAS/ACCESS, DDE, or other means
Manage subcontractors and internal staff responsible for primary data collection
Prepare reports for clients covering research methodology, findings and program recommendations
Assist and train less experienced SAS analysts in SAS and data analysis procedures

What we're asking

Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Sociology or related discipline required. Doctorate preferred.
Minimum 8 years applied professional experience in statistics and econometrics
Econometrics coursework with applied econometric experience using real world data
Experience with one or more programming languages. Minimum 8 years of experience in SAS; equivalent experience in STATA analyzing energy usage data considered.
Project management experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage time and workload effectively to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Demonstrated strong quantitative skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.
