Seasoned Import Compliance professional to focus on advanced projects within the Import Compliance realm for North America. Must have in-depth knowledge of classification, CFRs, drawbacks, reconciliation and valuation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities (in decreasing Critical Emphasis order)
Analyze and research data from official sources in order to determine proper product classifications (HTS). Participate in the review process to obtain necessary information from engineering, procurement, and product line management groups. Assist in submitting formal ruling requests to the appropriate government entity (US CBP, CBSA or appropriate Trade Compliance contracted professional).
Manage Additions of Value (Assist) Program to ensure compliance over all areas (Royalties, Assists, etc.), maintain existing processes and facilitate improvements.
Prepare and analyze quarterly valuation reconciliation of import entries from internal factories or any other reconciliation programs the company participates.
Provide training and daily support to international customer service, sales, purchasing, product line management teams to ensure compliance with regulations. Organize formal Import trainings and seminars.
Analyze and prepare drawback requests for products that have been re-exported on dutiable items. Explore all avenues of cost savings or cost recovery for imported goods.
Manage processes to comply with PGA regulations (FCC), develop product review and assessment methods, interaction with brokers, internal and manufacturers to support determinations.
Provide coverage and assistance to other team members during time off or as needed. Could include, but not limited to, Audits, Recordkeeping, Broker Requests, ISF, Classification, etc.
Maintain current knowledge of international import and export compliance regulations through official publications and formal trainings. Continuously evaluate import and export activities in order to develop and implement better compliance practices.
Interact with Trade Attorneys and CBP personnel with regard to Binding Ruling requests or protests.
Work with management to develop and execute special departmental projects.





Must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade - or equivalent years of experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications engineering or international trade compliance.



Additional Skills:

Prefer 8 years experience in telecommunications engineering or international trade compliance.

Import and Export Compliance trainings and certifications.
In-depth knowledge of Harmonized Tariff system classification. Must be able to perform variety of tasks with minimal direction.
Excellent oral, written, problem solving skills and ability to establish priorities required. Knowledge of MS Office, Oracle. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with high attention to detail required.
US Customs brokerage license preferred.
