Job Description

Strategic Alliance Development Engineer (Bodycote Thermal Processing; Rancho Dominguez, California): Generate new business through the development of strategic alliances that results in profitable growth to meet and exceed targets. This position requires a blend of both technical ability and business acumen of heat treating and metallurgical processes and solutions. The incumbent will apply business and technology skills to develop complex joint solutions for key partner customers that result in incremental net new revenue for Bodycote. Responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge on relevant technologies, emerging industry trends and competitive technical direction and performing strategy development for the account on a global/national/regional business (whichever is applicable). Global Revenue and Gross Margin responsibility. Business development and global account growth. Ownership and year on year delivery of the sales plan and strategy for the Account. Coordination of sales activity for the assigned customer. Mentor the Account Managers that are responsible for the Strategic Account local sites such that Bodycote can positively impact customer value and cost drivers to support the customer's business through the adoption of Bodycote solutions. Develop and maintain (annually) a sales strategy and sales plan aligned to the customer's ongoing strategic and tactical business initiatives and that delivers clear value to the customer and to Bodycote. Develop and sustain key executive relationships within the customer base globally/nationally. Promote and position Bodycote as the customer's strategic partner. Participate in the identification and development of new and/or alignment of existing Bodycote value propositions to meet the customer's ongoing business and operational needs. Participate in the identification of product development/improvement requirements that are identified within the account, to further increase the value Bodycote can add to their portfolio. Collaborate and share knowledge with all members of the operations and sales teams to deliver maximum value to the customer and to Bodycote. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or MBA. Experience: Minimum of two years of experience. Experience must include two ears of demonstrated complex sales performance, and two years of Braze and metallurgical experience with titanium and nickel base stainless steel alloys. Must have: in-depth metallurgical knowledge and energy industry expertise; demonstrated experience and knowledge of Thermal Spray Surface Technology; knowledge of the Energy market place; and direct sales, operations or sales management experience.
