Job Description
Provide overall vision and strategic direction for Federal, State and Local government sales channels
Evaluate and develop channel partners as required
Maintains personal contact and a strong business relationship with key buying influencers of government accounts
Has a strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local government markets, including business trends, regulations, buyer rationale
Works with others to proactively monitor and respond to bid activity
Collaborates with VP of Sales to develop a yearly sales plan for government accounts and facilitates achievement through area AMs and CMs
Develops strong cross functional relationships within Tennant: (ASDs, AMs, CMs, Marketing, Customer Service and Marketing)
Responsible for advising sales representatives in the best methods for selling to government accounts. Occasionally assists in writing quotes, value justifications, and bid specifications.
Maintains strong knowledge of contacts and government contracting agencies.
Approximately 30% travel.

Required Skills
US Citizen with clean record (for security clearances on federal facilities)
Advanced planning, communication, teamwork and organization skills
Proficient in project management
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
A strong attention to detail
A strong history of writing competitive and proprietary specifications especially for the federal government
Takes initiative and ownership to achieve goals
Sets appropriate timelines and follows projects and tasks through to completion
Thinks and acts strategically
Proficient at interacting with people at all levels of an organization
Effectively integrates and manages the interface between groups
Strong selling and presentation skills
Ability to analyze buying trends and formulate specific strategies for growth.

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
10 years of overall business experience, to include a minimum of 7 years of sales and/or business development experience
Demonstrated experience developing and administering sales to government entities and or contract management.
Track record of successful business performance
