JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee strategic approach for development of customer
insights and business/market intelligence, industry data
and sales analysis as applied to understanding the
market, market segmentation, competition and
opportunities so as to identify and capitalize on the
most advantageous business opportunities both in the US
and internationally through growth initiatives. The
associate will be a core member of the team and provide
support consistent with the Company's overall strategy.
Focus will be on international organic growth for the
B&W operational units in coordination with senior
management. In addition, this role will support a range
of activities that aid in the development of B&W s
Corporate strategy development. We are a $2B business
that is looking to leverage those businesses across our
current platform in order to significantly grow top line
revenue through acquisitions active in international
markets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and understand customer needs and buying
behavior, understand competitor strengths and weaknesses
with an international focus
Identify shifts in the technological, regulatory, and
cultural context of business
Understand marketing program development and
implementation, comprehend role in a fully integrated,
strategic marketing plan. Support overall focus and
strategy in consultation with business segments
Assess global regional and customer trends, identify
growth opportunities, develop implementation plans in
coordination with business leaders, drive into
forecasting, budgeting and R&D
Utilize forecasting tools and research to support the
business segments, develop competitor intelligence and
utilize a CRM system
Monitor, analyze and forecast key market
trends/drivers for all company products and services,
including market segmentation (fuel, plant size, etc.),
strategic customer needs, competitors activities and
strategies, industry value chain, regulatory and other
external drivers
Predict and clearly identify global market trends,
opportunities and threats, new markets, market growth
and market share
Work closely with Sales and product management to
position our products for strategic opportunities,
obtain the feedback from the market on our products and
those of our competitors technically and commercially
and ensure that R&D efforts are focused on product
strategy based on market demand
Associate will manage the collection and analysis of
competitive information, and develop strategies to
improve global market share. Work is performed without
appreciable direction, exercising considerable latitude
in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Significant opportunity exists to grow within the
function with exposure to senior staff and business
leaders along with the opportunity for future leadership
positions within acquired companies or Corporate
Development.
Support the Business Segment strategic initiatives in
the alignment and execution phases, with Corporate
Development as-needed for investments; support Corporate
Development in due diligence and strategic rationale
development, and integration activities for key
acquisitions
Requirements:
Job Qualifications / Requirements
EDUCATION:
BS in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering.
Completion of post-secondary or graduate studies in
Business Administration, an MBA is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
4-6 years of applicable work experience in strategic
marketing development and execution activities, with an
international focus. A strong understanding of the
industrial business sectors, along with engineering
concepts is required. Candidate will have strong
analytical and communication skills. Travel between
10-20% will be required, including some international
travel.
