General Job Description
The purpose of this position is to perform inspections of street light installations to make sure they are consistent with City of Atlanta standards and operating procedures; perform inspections of areas permitted for work in the right of way and inspect work of contractors in the areas of the street lights. The inspector will complete reports on investigations associated with the damages found thru inspections.
General Description and Classification Standards
Performs electrical work similar to an Electrician. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: inspecting new projects; inspecting street light connections; maintaining records and logs; preparing schedules and investigating complaints and reports of street light outages. Individuals must possess knowledge of servicing, repairing and locating street lights.
Works under minimal supervision. The inspector is expected to work with the Street Light Engineers and Street Light Supervisors for inspections and completion of tasks and may also work independently or with other skilled workers responsible for the street light servicing and repairs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Troubleshooting capacity to identify problems and repairs needed for street light operation and restorations. Install service and repair street light fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring. Possess the ability to locate infrastructure for street lights and traffic signals. Operate power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
Associates Degree or at least 3 years of electrical experience with Street Lights and Traffic Signals.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid and Active Georgia Driver's License
