Belcan AETD is currently looking for a Structures Engineer (BSME minimum, MSME preferred) experienced in design analysis and test of complex mechanical systems for our Hamilton Sundstrand office. The successful candidate will be responsible for giving technical guidance to vendors of gas turbine controls components with respect to structural design, analysis and test.
The controls components include; sensors, air valves, actuators, fuel controls, pumps, and electronic engine controls. The position involves establishing structural design guidelines, clarifying structural requirements, providing guidance on mounting configurations, reviewing analysis and test plans, reviewing analysis and test reports, participating in design reviews, acquiring and reducing on-engine component vibration measurements, selecting resonant dwell frequencies for vibration testing, interacting with government or regulatory agencies regarding structural qualification issues, and assisting in root cause and corrective action efforts to improve field durability. Ansys, FEA, and Nastran/Patran tools will be employed by the candidate.
