- The Airframe Structural Analysis Core Competency Unit is responsible for insuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage, landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic systems attachments. - Structural integrity responsibilities cover composite and conventional structures and extend from conceptualization on through development, manufacturing and field service support. - In fulfilling its function, adherence to the appropriate design criteria and other directives mandated by the customer and or regulatory agencies is strictly maintained. - Specific functions include: Static structural analysis and Margin of Safety determination, finite element modeling of airframe structures using PATRAN/NASTRAN and stress-life fatigue analysis using clients standard work procedures.
- BSME/Aerospace Eng. required, MS preferred- Work Experience: 10+ years?
experience in airframe structural analysis of metallic primary structures.
- Additional airframe advanced composite primary structure experience preferred.
- Experience with finite element modeling and analysis and familiarity
with airframe structural testing and instrumentation practices- In-depth
application of fatigue concepts and methodology. - Familiarity with fracture
mechanics principles/ methodology.- Software Experience: NASTRAN/PATRAN
or equivalent FEM, Mathcad or equivalent math tools, Stress and strain
based fatigue methods, MS Office applications and familiarity with Catia.-
