JOB DESCRIPTIONHuitt-Zollars' Dallas office has an immediate opportunity for a professional Structural Bridge Engineer with MSCE and minimum 10 years of experience in bridge design. Candidate should have strong design knowledge of prestressed concrete I-Beam bridges and AASHTO Standard / LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
Prepare Bridge Layouts
Utilize Geometry Programs (GEOPAK, RDS, etc..)
Hydraulics (Scour Analysis
Prestressed Concrete Beams (I-beams, U-Beams, Box Beams, etc..)
Steel Design (Curved Plate Girders, Rolled Beams, Etc..)
Bearing Pad Analysis
Single Column Bents
Inverted - T analysis
Foundation Analysis (Drilled Shafts, Spread Footings, Retaining Walls, etc..)
Plans, Specifications, & Estimates
Estimated Quantities & Bearing Seat Elevations
Abutments & Interior Bents
Slab Plan & Sections
Codes and Design Criteria
AASHTO Standard / LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
TxDOT Bridge Design Manual
TxDOT Detailers Manual
Background in prestressed concrete I-Beam bridges
Design of horizontally curved steel plate girders a plus but not required
Proficient in FEM software in addition to traditional bridge design software.
Experience in plan preparation, specifications, and cost estimates
Knowledge of TxDOT design practice a plus but not required.
TxDOT pre-certification (or ability to obtain certification) in the following categories:
Minor Bridge Layouts
Major Bridge Layouts
Multi-level Interchange and Exotic Bridge Layouts (preferred)
Minor Bridge Design
Major Bridge Design
Multi-Level Interchange Design
